The Windows® Phone 7 is an operating system for mobile devices, similar to Android™ from Google® or iOS© for iPhones® from Apple®. This operating system is the newest from among those mentioned, and there are definitely less applications available to support this on the Windows® Marketplace. If you are looking for an application that enables calling using an Internet connection instead of the GSM network, there are a limited amount of apps available. Tango™ is an application that enables texting, calling, and even more video chatting for all the three operating systems, so you can communicate with your friends even with a different platform. The instructions below describe how to download and use Tango™ on a Windows® Phone 7 based cell phone.
Installation of Tango™ communicator on WP7:
- Open “Marketplace” on your phone.
- Tap on the “Search” icon and type “tango” in search box.
- Tap on the “Tango Video Calls” app.
- Tap on the “Install” button, once the application installs, launch it.
- If the initial welcome screen appears, tap on “Begin”.
- Add your phone number. Optionally, you can insert your personal information such as name, email, etc. Click on the “Save” icon.
- Tap on “Contacts” and you can see all users from your directory that have this application installed. Simply call them by tapping on the contact.
