Many Internet browsers are available, but Internet Explorer® is still one of the most used applications for browsing websites. When you install version 9, you’ll immediately spot one of the improved functions – web search performed directly in the address bar. Bing® is set as the default search provider for your search queries, but it can be easily changed to one you prefer to use. The instructions below show you how to change the search provider which must be listed as an add-on for Internet Explorer® 9.
Changing a Search Provider in Internet Explorer®:
- Launch the Internet Explorer® browser.
- In the menu, click on “Tools” and select the “Manage-addons”.
- In the left navigation bar, click on “Search Providers”.
- The Bing provider is displayed in the main box, select it.
- Click on the “Find more search providers…” link in the bottom of the window.
- A new window opens with available add-ons, find your preferred provider and then click on it.
- Now click on the “Add to Internet Explorer” button.

- Restart Internet Explorer®.
