how to create my own torrent file for sharing files, folders, or zipped files with others

When you want to share files, folders, or zipped files with others using a peer-to-peer network, you have a few options. For instance, you may use a special peer-to-peer application or a bit torrent file. With bit torrents, users open the torrent file in their Bit Torrent software to start the downloading process. These applications are useful when you need to share large files. Simply send the torrent file to the intended recipient(s) via email. The uTorrent© application can be used to create torrent files. The instructions below describe how to use torrents for sharing data.

  1. Launch the uTorrent© application.
  2. Go to the “File >Create New Torrent...” (Ctrl + N) option.
  3. In the “Select Source” section, click on the “Add file” or the “Add directory” button, depending on the data you want to share. Choose the file or folder on your computer and click on the “OK” button.
  4. In the “Torrent Properties” section, fill in the “Trackers” if you want to use a particular tracker, or leave the default option selected.
  5. In the “Other” section, you can choose additional settings for the torrent file.
  6. Click on the “Create and save as...” button, then click on the “Close” button.
