Many people seem to find the Windows® 8 Metro interface complicated. Actually, it is not. It is simply different than what we have become accustomed to in previous Windows® versions.
One feature that is typical of Metro, and quite convenient, is search. If a user misses any part of the operating system, he or she can simply begin typing in the Metro interface and press enter. The search query is automatically placed in the search box and its results will be displayed. For some keywords, there may be many results so it is good to know how to customize the search feature.
The instructions below describe how to get to the settings of search applications.
Customize search in Windows® 8 instructions:
- Launch your computer with the Windows® 8 operating system Metro interface.
- Hover the mouse cursor near the lower right corner of the screen. When the bottom bar appears, select “Settings”.
- Click the “Change PC settings / More PC Settings”.
- In the PC settings screen, click the “Search” category in the left pane.
- Use the sliders to turn On/Off applications from the search screen.
