If you use Instagram® for sharing or publishing photos, there may come a time when you decide you’d rather delete your account. Typically used from mobile devices but accessible from a computer using an Internet browser, an Instagram® account can be deleted quite easily in just a few clicks.
Deleting my Instagram® account
- Launch your Internet browser and go to the Instagram® home page.
- Click the “log in” button on the right side.
- Type in your username and password, then click the “Log in” button.
- Click your “profile (username) button” on the top navigation bar and select “Edit Profile”.
- Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page where you will see a button that says “I’d like to delete my account.” Click the link.
- Instagram® will ask you why you want to delete your account.
- Click in the box that reads "To continue, please re-enter your password" in order to do this.
- Click the “Permanently delete my account” button and click the “OK” button in the confirmation dialog box.
