Conversation view is a special mode of displaying emails in the Gmail interface which is enabled by default, it means that your messages with a person are displayed as a conversation tree below the last email. This is something that most of people are not used to and usually want to have emails displayed in the classic way so that every email takes one line in the user interface. Actually, the problem here is that if you set a Gmail account Google has decided to prepare you a surprise in having a “conversation view” of your mailbox. Anyway, it is very simple to disable it. Read the instructions below to remove the unpleasant “modern” interface.
- Log in to your Gmail account and click on the “Settings” dropdown (cogwheel) on the right-top of the interface, than select “Settings”.
- Find the “Conversation View” of the settings and switch the radio button to “Conversation view off”.
- Close the setting by clicking on the “Save changes” button at the bottom.
