Facebook® changes its user interface quite often. Improvements or updates are made to its layout and many of its feature functionalities, which users have to familiarize themselves with and learn to use.
For instance, Facebook® changed its chat feature to a sidebar chat not too long ago. Many users find this new sidebar chat feature unappealing for a number of reasons. One is the friends list displayed in the sidebar may not contain the people you interact with most (although it’s suppose to).
If you would prefer using the Facebook® previous chat application, all you have to do is add a simple script into your Internet browser. Google Chrome℠ users can read how to get the old Facebook® chat in their browser by following the instructions below.
Getting Old Facebook® Chat in Google Chrome℠:
- Launch Google Chrome℠ and go to the Facebook® Sidebar Chat Reversion script page.
- In the script page, click the ‘INSTALL’ button, which is on the top-right side of the page.
- The Install Popup will appear. In that box, click the ‘Install’ button for the script to get installed.
- Close the browser and then relaunch it.
- Now log in to Facebook®. You should see the previous chat feature available.
Tips and Tricks:
- If you can’t see the old Facebook® chat, clear the cache and open Facebook® again.
- Anytime you remove this script from the extension menu of Google Chrome℠, you will get the new sidebar chat box.
