Screensavers are programs invented to protect your monitor against phosphorous burn-in on CRT and plasma screens. Generally, it was used primarily for keeping movement or activity on the screen while the user was away from his or her computer. Originally, common screensavers were “Space Flight,” “Flying Objects,” “3D Time,” or “3D Text”. Later, screensavers included security and entertainment functions. For security, activation of a screensaver could lock all options. To unlock it, a password was required. However, this is only basic security and protects only open applications on the desktop. In this article we will focus on the fun and creative part, changing those ancient and boring “3D Texts” screensavers to something more relaxing or inspirational.
