The Flash® video format is a special file format designed for playing video files and sources on the Web. All Internet browsers will detect the missing plugin needed to play the video and install it. However, if you want to play a saved FLV video file you have to install special codecs for your media player. To learn where to download and install these codecs you can read the instructions below.
Downloading and installing FLV codecs:
- Open your Internet browser and go to the K-Lite© download page on codecs.com.
- Click on the “Download K-Lite codec Pack” hyperlink.
- Click on the “Download [K-Lite Codec Pack 8.0.0 FULL]” option. Save the file to your computer and run it.
- Go through the installation wizard by clicking on the “Next” button. Once you have installed the codec pack you should be able to play FLV Flash® video files in your media player.
Tips and Tricks:
- If you still can’t play the FLV file, try to restart your computer.
