How to set System Protect to secure both your personal files and system files

Many devices, such as music players, cameras, recorders, dictaphones, as well as books and diaries are now commonly found in digital form. Information related to these machines, such as your input or output is usually saved as files. Most of us keep these files on the hard disk drives of our computer, but nearly everyone at some point thinks about their protection. Various types of online storage exist as mentioned in the article that focuses on the storing my photos, music, or documents online.

Protection against stored data deletion exists as well, though it does not address hardware and system issues. However, it is a great tool in case you do not want to transfer files from your computer. One such program is System Protect which is a free, easy-to-use tool designed to prevent the deletion of important programs, files and folders caused by viruses, antivirus/antispyware programs, other users on your computer including children, or unintentional/accidental removal. System Protect automatically protects system files and folders.

Certainly every user desires to have his operating system protected and kept in a working state, so a system protection program is recommended to help achieve this. The instructions below will show you how to set System Protect to secure both your personal files and system files.

  1. Install System Protect by following steps from the article that focuses on the protection of your system. The application automatically protects your system files.
  2. Start the application.
  3. In the left pane choose the “Custom Protection” tab and click on either the “Add File” or “Add Folder” button, depending on what are you going to protect. In the browse window, choose your desired folder or file and click the “OK” or “Open” button.
  4. The name and path of the chosen item will be displayed. You can remove some folders or files from the list, just select the item and click on the “Remove Selected” button.
  5. Make a list of your protected files and click on the “Close” button at the bottom of the application window.

Tips and Tricks:

  • If you want to remove all of the protected files and folders, click on the “Remove All” button in the “Custom Protection” tab.
  • To avoid setting changes in the System Protect application by another user you can set a password in the Settings tab.
