How to set Web Security Guard to block pornography and undesirable ranked web pages

The Internet seems to be almost a necessity for the modern day child. The worldwide network is used for communication with friends, studying, reading interesting articles, playing games, and getting general information. Many pages have already been classified by thousands of users. The instructions below will show you how to set Web Security Guard to block pornography and undesirable ranked web pages, as well as how to rank websites you found to be dangerous.

How to rank websites:

  1. Open your Internet browser and type in the problematic address that you want to rank if you know it. Usually, you will come across the page while browsing.
  2. Click on the “Web Security Guard” dropdown menu in the toolbar.
  3. Choose “View Detailed Info & Rate This Website” and a new page will open.
  4. Click on the “Rate website:
    ” selection.
  5. Select the category checkbox; you can type in comments as well.
  6. Click the “Send” button.

How to block adult and undesirable websites:

  1. Open your Internet browser.
  2. In the Crawler toolbar click on “Web Security Guard” dropdown menu and click the “Settings” selection.
  3. Switch to the “Classification Settings” tab.
  4. In the “Threat Classification” section, set all dropdowns for “Dangerous” (red highlight), but do not set the dropdown for “Safe” (green highlight).
  5. Click the “OK” button. The settings will activate after your browser restarts.

Tips and Tricks:

  • If you register an account on the Web Security Guard registration page, you can participate more effectively, and your rating will be considered more valid.
  • You can easily receive information about any page you visit by clicking the “Web Security Guard” dropdown menu in the toolbar and choosing the “View Detailed Info & Rate This Website” selection.

Warnings:

  • Overusing the setting “Dangerous” for the majority of classes is a strict measure. Be prepared that you may have to remove some of the settings for adults to use the website.
  • Be aware that some websites are not ranked at all or ranked as safe. Please be patient and help improve the security database with your classifications.
