Restoring the factory settings is a process during which the content of the internal memory is cleared and the device is then recovered into the state as if it just came out of the box. Expectedly, all accounts, emails, photos and other personal stuff is gone, so please be aware of this and backup all your data before recovering to the factory defaults. In most cases, you will be able to restore your device through the system settings which we also recommend - it is definitely the easiest way. Layout of setting screens may differ for various Android devices, section names and terminology as well, because the graphical interface is usually modified by the manufacturer, but the basic procedure is always the same. In the instructions below we show you how to restore your phone or tablet to the factory settings.
- Open the System Settings.
- Go to the section Backup and restore.
- In case you are using a security PIN or gesture, the system will ask you to enter it.
- Check if the function of automatic restore is activated.
- Use the option of “Factory data reset”.
- Again, you may be asked to enter a PIN or gestures.
- If it your device allows, activate option - Erase internal storage.
- Then use the Reset phone / tablet.
