Most people use various Internet browsers, and can set a different homepage for each. The homepage is the page that is automatically opened when you launch your browser, or the page you are sent to when you click on your “Home” button. The settings of a homepage are slightly different in every browser, and the instructions below describe how to set the homepage in each of the four most commonly used Internet browsers.
Setting your homepage in Internet Explorer®:
- Launch Internet Explorer®. In the menu, click on the “Tools” tab and select “Internet Options” or open “Internet Options” in the Control Panel.
- Once you are in the “General” tab, the first section will be “Home page”. Insert the homepage you desire into the box below.
- Click on the “OK” button.
Setting your homepage in Mozilla® Firefox®:
- Launch Firefox®. In the menu, click on the “Tools” tab and select “Options”.
- Once you are in the “General” tab (if you are not in this tab, switch to it), the first section will be the “Startup” section. Insert the homepage you desire into the “Home Page” box.
- Click on the “OK” button.
Setting your homepage in Google Chrome™:
- Launch Google Chrome™. In the upper right hand corner of the window, click on the wrench icon.
- Select “Options”.
- Once you are in the “Basics” section (if you are not in this section, switch to it in the left navigation pane), select the radio button in front of “Open this page” and insert the homepage you desire into the box.
- Click on the “OK” button.
Setting your homepage in Apple® Safari®:
- Launch Apple® Safari®. In the upper right hand corner of the window, click on the general Safari® settings.
- Select the “Preferences…” option.
- Insert the homepage you desire into the “Homepage” box.
- Close the “Preferences…” tab.
