changing autosafe file in Microsoft Office 2010.

AutoSave (or AutoRecover) is a very handy function that offers Microsoft Office® users some protection against losing data. This feature saves opened documents automatically to a predefined location. The default setting saves the file every 10 minutes to the default location: “C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\”. If you want to change how frequent a file is to be saved automatically or the location where it is to be saved, read the instructions below to learn how to do it.

Change AutoSave settings in Microsoft Office® 2010:

  1. Go “File > Option“.
  2. In the left navigation, switch to the “Save“ tab.
  3. Next to the checkbox titled “Save AutoRecover information every“, you can change the time by clicking on the up and down arrows. Set it to your preference.
  4. Below the checkbox is the “AutoRecover file location:” field with the location path. Click on the “Browse” button and change it to where you want the file to be automatically saved.
  5. Once you are finished, click on the “OK” button.
