Sharing information and daily events on social networks is becoming more and more popular and quite a phenomenon. People can easily remain in touch with family, relatives and friends using short messages and nowadays you can use mobile devices to access the social networks. One of the classic social networks is Twitter®, where you can “tweet” short messages with any group of people you want. The instructions below describes the process of setting up a Twitter® account, so you can easily join the community.
Setting up an account on Twitter®:
- Launch your Internet browser and go to the Twitter® home page.
- You should see three boxes below the “New to Twitter?” heading.
- Insert your full name, email address and password and click on the “Sign up” button.
- The entered information will be checked and you will be offered a username. You can accept it or rewrite it to one you desire. The availability of the username will be checked immediately.
- Click on the “Create my account” button.
- Your account will be created and you can take a tour where you are taught how to use Twitter® or skip it by clicking on the “Twitter” image shown on the top.
- Now go to the email address you typed in on step 3. There you should find the confirmation email for your Twitter® account. Click on the link that’s in it.
- Congratulations! You have just created your Twitter® account.
Tips and Tricks:
- If you don’t see the confirmation email in the inbox folder of your mailbox, check the spam folder. Sometimes the email will be automatically placed there.
Warnings:
- Twitter® is a typical social network, so please be careful with sharing your personal information there and always remember the threat of information abuse.
- Never give your password to anyone.
