Synchronization tools are a real benefit nowadays. They can sync folders, emails, contacts, documents and even set your Internet browser. A popular one is the Xmarks® browser extension. This add-on offers a synchronization service for bookmarks on four of the most used Internet browsers - Internet Explorer®, Mozilla® Firefox®, Google Chrome® and Safari®. In addition, it synchronizes passwords, tabs and search history. The instructions below explain how to start using Xmarks® in one of the above listed browsers.
Getting Xmarks® for your Internet browser:
- Create an Xmarks® account on the Sign in! page.
- Enter your username, email, password and click on the “CREATE ACCOUNT”.
- Check your inbox (and junk mail folder, just in case) for the confirmation email.
- Click on the link in the email to verify your email address.
- Now go to the Xmarks® homepage.
- Click on the icon of your Internet browser (Internet Explorer®, Mozilla® Firefox®, Google Chrome® or Safari®) in the left box.
- The instructions for each browser are slightly different so follow the installation instructions on accessing the Xmarks® extension for your browser.
- Restart your browser and log in to your account.
- Go through the Xmarks® Setup Wizard and enjoy the Xmarks® shared and synchronized bookmarks. Usually you can find the extension in the “Tools” of your browser.
