One of the many features found in Windows® 8 is toast notifications. These brief messages appear on the upper right-side of the screen for few seconds when the important event or change occurred in your computer. By default, Windows® 8 displays these notifications when a new device is plugged in or a new application is installed. But the Mail app in Windows® 8 supports notifications, it doesn’t display notifications whenever new messages comes to your inbox. If you want to turn these notifications on, follow the instructions below.
Turning on Toast Notifications for Emails in Windows® 8:
- Click on the Mail app tile on the Start screen to launch the email application.
- Move your mouse to the upper or lower right corner of the screen to see the side bar and click on the “Settings” icon.
- Click on the “Accounts” option, then on the account you wish to enable the email notification.
- Scroll down the settings until you see the option named “Show email notification for this account”.
- Turn on the option to enable email notification for this account.
