You may obtain some files that are compressed into a zip file. It is a common way to pack multiple files into an archive so they are easier to share. To access all the files, you need to decompress the zip file. Unzipping files is quite easy. To learn how to unzip the archive, read the instructions below.
Instructions:
- Click “Start” and “My Computer” (in Windows Vista® and Windows® 7 it is “Computer”) and navigate to the location of the unzipped file.
- Right-click on the file and choose “Extract files…” (In Windows Vista® and Wiindows® 7 it is “Extract All…”).
- Select the location where you want to extract the zipped files and click the “OK” button.
- The contents will now unzip to the chosen location.
Tips and tricks:
- If you don’t change the location of where the files decompress to, a folder named the same as the zip file is created in the current location and files are extracted into it.
