The Facebook® social network offers a wide variety of chatting services. You can chat in real time and easily see which friends are online. Video calls have grown in popularity and is easier nowadays since most laptops have built-in webcams and many desktop computers have external webcams. People communicating on Facebook® can use a simple plugin to see the friend who is being called. This plugin also lets you exchange emoticons for your friend’s live smile, winks, and laughter. The instructions below show you how to start a video chat with your buddies.
Starting video chat instructions:
- Launch your Internet browser and log in to your Facebook® account.
- On the right side, you can view your list of friends and those who are online will have a green dot next to their name.
- Click on the friend you want to call and the chatting window will pop up.
- Click on the camera symbol in the header of the window. If you don’t have the necessary plugin installed, you must download and install it.
- Click on the “Install” button. Save the file to your hard drive.
- Run the installation file you downloaded. The plugin will install and the call will automatically begin.
- Now you can enjoy a video chat on Facebook® with your buddies. For ending a video call, close the video chat window.
Tips and Tricks:
- If that person is not available then you can also leave a video message by clicking on the “Record Message” button.
