Before setting up the POP3 access you first need to activate POP3 in your Inbox account.

After you activate POP3 & SMTP access in your Inbox.com account, you can easily setup your mail client by following the instructions below:

To configure your Email client manually with Outlook Express 6:

1. Open Outlook Express.
   
   
2. Click on the "Tools" menu, and select the "Accounts..." option.
   
   



3. Click on the "Add" button and then click the "Mail..." option.
   
   



4. Enter your name in the "Display name:" field, and click on the "Next" button.
   
   
   
   
5. Enter your full Inbox.com email address (username@inbox.com) in the "Email address:" field, and click on the "Next" button.
   
   
   
   
6. Enter "my.inbox.com" in the "Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server:" field.
   
   
7. Enter "my.inbox.com" in the "Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:" field.
   
   
8. Click on the "Next" button.
   
   
   
   
9. Enter your Inbox.com username (including '@inbox.com') in the "Account name:" field.
   Enter your Inbox.com password in the "Password:" field, and click on the "Next" button. If you do not want to fill out the password everytime you receive or send message(s), select the "Remember password" checkbox.
   Do not select the "Log on using Secure Password Authentication(SPA)" checkbox!
   
   
   
   
10. Click on the "Finish" button.
    
    
11. Now you have set your POP3 server to be able to receive incoming mail.
    
    
    
    
12. To activate the sending of mail, follow these steps:
    Highlight the "my.inbox.com" line and click on the "Properties" buttton.
    
    
    
    
13. Click on the "Servers" tab, and select the "My server requires authentication" checkbox.
    
    
14. Click on the "OK" button.
    
    

It is recommended to use the secured port 465 to send your emails. To change the default SMTP port for Ooutgoing server, click on the "Advanced" tab on Internet E-mail Settings, and type the 465 number into the "Outgoing server (SMTP): column.
