The Photos module is interconnected with the "My Photos" folder in your Storage module. Any photo uploaded to the Storage module becomes visible in the Photos module, and any change (when you delete or move a photo or an album) in the Storage module takes effect in the Photos module too. It works the same in either direction.

When you upload a file, its filename is used as a default title. Then you can change the photo's title within the Photos module. For example, your camera names the images DSCN00001.jpg and you would like to add its own title so that you can recognize what is in the photo.
