How can I activate IMAP for my mail client or device?

Please login to Inbox.com webmail and go to Activate IMAP page http://email.inbox.com/imap_activate.aspx.

Click "Activate IMAP" at the bottom of the page.

IMAP activation is an asynchronous process which will take about 1-5 minutes. After activation you can set up your device or email client to access your account via IMAP.

Setting up IMAP access for iPhone®

1. Go to Settings | Mail, Contacts, Calendars

   

2. Select "Add Account" from the menu "Accounts"

   

3. Select "Other"” from the "Add Account" list

   

4. Select "Add Mail Account" under "Mail"

   

5. Under "New Account" fill in your Name, Email Address including domain (e.g. user@inbox.com), your Inbox webmail Password and Description.

   

6. Tap on "Next" to create a new account

   

7. Configure your incoming mail server to imap.inbox.com, then tap on "Next"

   

   And your outgoing mail server to smtp.inbox.com, then tap on "Next"

   

8. Tap on "Yes" to continue without SSL

   

9. Go to Settings | Mail, Contacts, Calendars and tap on the newly created account (Inbox)

   

10. On the Inbox tab, switch the Mail option to "ON" and tap on "Account" to open its details

    

11. Then select "Advanced" to reach the Advanced section

    

12. Set up the "Primary Server" under "SMTP" to "smtp.inbox.com". Then tap on "Account"

    

13. Tap on "smtp.inbox.com" to setup the primary server details: Server on, Use SSL on and Server port: 465. Continue by tapping on "Done" and "Account".

    

14. Tap on "Advanced" and set all Mailboxes Behaviors as stored locally on your iPhone

    

15. Make sure "Use SSL" is switched On for Incoming Settings, Authentication is set to "Password" and Server Port is set to 993.
