An issue has been reported by Inbox email users who have avast! on installed on their computers. It seems that avast! has changed the correct POP3 setting from port 110 to the incorrect setting of port 995. These users receive the following error message: "Server Response: -ERR Cannot establish SSL with POP server 22.214.171.124:995, SSL_connect error 10054" .Inbox email users who access their mailboxes via an email client receive a similar error message and their incoming emails are not delivered.
If you are facing the issue described above, please follow these simple steps to fix the problem.
Open avast! center
Click on REAL-TIME SHIELDS tab
From the submenu select Mail Shield
And then click Expert Setting button
Navigate to SSL accounts option and setup your Inbox.com account as follows: Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Encryption: None. If there is any other record for Inbox.com please remove it
