Autoresponder is a message which will be automatically sent upon receiving an email (autoreply). You can set up an autoresponder for when you' re going on vacation or plan to be out of reach for a longer time.
To set up an autoresponder:
Select the "Settings" tab and the "Autoresponder" option in the left menu.
Set one of 3 possible states:
Turn off - if you select this option, no automated reply will be generated upon receipt of new email.
Autorespond to emails from people in my contact list only - if you select this option, an automated reply will be generated upon receipt of a new email from a sender's address in your contact list.
Autorespond on all emails - if you select this option, an automated reply will be generated upon delivery of any new email except in cases when the new email is detected as spam, it is trashed by some sort rule, it came from a mailing list or it is a automated message (such as delivery status notification, etc.)
Type in the message for your automated reply in the "Body" message box.
Click on the "Save settings" button.
Automated reply will be sent just once per 24 hours to the same email address. In other words, if you receive more emails from the same email address in one day, the sender will receive only one autoreply.
