How do I configure MS Outlook 2003 to send and receive mail from my Inbox.com email account?
To configure your Email client manually with MS Outlook 2003:
Open MS Outlook.
Click on the "Tools" menu, and select the "E-mail Accounts..." option.
Select the "Add a new e-mail account" option button and click on the "Next" button.
Select the "POP3" option button and click on the "Next" button.
Enter the following information: - Your Name: Enter your name as you would like it to appear in the "From" field of your outgoing messages.
- Email Address: Enter your full Inbox.com Mail address (for example, "email@example.com").
- Server Information Incoming mail server (POP3): my.inbox.com Outgoing mail server (SMTP): my.inbox.com
- Login Information User Name: Enter your full Inbox.com Mail address. Password: Enter your Inbox.com password.
Do not select the "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)" checkbox.
Click on the "More Settings" button and select the "Outgoing Server" tab.
Select the "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" checkbox.
If you would like, you can test the configuration by clicking on the "Test Account Settings ..." button.
Click on the "Next" button on the Email Account Wizard, then click on the "Finished" button.
If your ISP provider blocks the default SMTP port 25, you may use alternate ports 465 or 587 to send your emails. To change the default SMTP port, click on the "Advanced" tab on Internet E-mail Settings, and type the alternate port number into the "Outgoing server (SMTP): column.
Congratulations! You've just configured your client to send and receive Inbox.com messages.
