Heartbleed Bug Wreaks Havoc on Internet’s Web Servers
April 11, 2014: Inbox.com is pleased to report there have been no security breaches in any of our systems by the recently discovered Heartbleed bug. Upon its report, our security experts immediately began a thorough examination into our systems. Fortunately, there was no breach in our site. Since then, we have implemented protective measures to prevent any future access attempts by Heartbleed so our users and their information remain well secured.
The Heartbleed bug is a serious vulnerability. It bypasses the encryption protections provided by the widely used OpenSSL® cryptographic library, allowing private information, such as credit card numbers and passwords, to be accessed unknowingly. To stop this intrusion, website administrators must implement a fix to protect its users.
Inbox.com website administrators acted quickly, and remain vigilant to ensure the highest-level of security is always maintained.
