How do I configure Opera 8.51 to send and receive mail from my Inbox.com email account?

Before setting up the POP3 access you first need to activate POP3 in your Inbox account.

After you activate POP3 & SMTP access in your Inbox.com account, you can easily setup your mail client by following the instructions below:

To configure Opera Web Browser to send and receive messages from Inbox.com, follow these steps:

1. Open Opera Web Browser.
   
   
2. Click on the "Tools" menu, and select the "Mail and chat accounts..." option.
   
   
   
   
3. In the dialog, click to "Yes"
   
   
   
   
4. Select in the menu item "Regular e-mail(POP)" and click "Next".
   
   
   
   
5. Enter your Real name as you would like it to appear in the "From" field of your outgoing messages.
   
   
6. Enter your full Inbox.com Mail address (for example, "john.smith@inbox.com").
   
   
7. Enter your Organization name (for example, "John Smith").
   
   
   
   
8. Enter your full Inbox.com Mail address.
   
   
9. Enter your Inbox.com password.
   
   
   
   
10. Incoming mail server (POP3): my.inbox.com
    Outgoing mail server (SMTP): my.inbox.com
    
    
11. Select the "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)" checkbox.
    
    
12. The checkbox "Leave messages on server" is peripheral; we always leave messages on our servers.
    
    
13. Click on the "Finish" button.
    
    
14. Now you have set your POP3 server to be able to receive incoming mail.
    
    
    
    
15. To activate the sending of mail, follow these steps, otherwise you will see the following dialog window:
    
    
    
    
16. Click on the "Tools" menu, and select the "Mail and chat accounts..." option.
    
    
17. Select your account and click on the "Edit..." button.
    
    
18. Select the "Servers" tab.
    
    
19. Select the "AUTH CRAM-MD5" option in the "Authentication" dropdown menu in the "Outgoing SMTP Server" section.
    
    
20. Fill out the username and password in the same way as they are filled out in the "Incoming POP Server" section. It is recommended to use the secured ports. For Incoming POP3 Server use the port 995 and for the Outgoing SMTP server use port 465. Also it is recommended to check the "Secure connection (TLS)"" checkbox.
    
    
21. Click on the "OK" button.
